How to Write Your One-Page Testimony Story
Theme: My Story, His Glory. Your personal story is powerful. It shows others how God’s hand has worked in your life — through struggles, breakthroughs, and growth. Follow the outline below to write a one-page story that glorifies Him.
SECTION 1:
[memorial stone word]
Your Memorial Stone Word
Begin by writing one word that sums up your story — your “Memorial Stone” (e.g., Doors, Healing, Faithful, Mercy, Breakthrough).
That single word becomes a reminder of what God did and a testimony to future generations — “When your children ask… what does this stone mean?” (Joshua 4:6)
SECTION 2:
THE OPENING
Set the Scene (1–2 paragraphs)
Purpose: Introduce who you are and what season or situation your story is about.
Tips:
• Begin with a simple snapshot: “Before this happened, I was…”
• Identify the challenge, turning point, or need that set the stage for God to move.
• Keep it conversational — like telling a friend what you’ve been through.
Example:
“Two years ago, I was struggling to keep my faith after losing my job. I prayed but felt like God was silent. Looking back, I now see He was setting me up for a greater purpose.”
SECTION 3:
THE BODY
Tell What God Did (2–3 paragraphs)
Purpose: Describe how God showed up and changed your story.
Tips:
• Explain the moment or process when things began to shift — an answered prayer, a Scripture that came alive, a person He sent to help.
• Be honest about your doubts, emotions, or delays, but always point toward how God’s grace, mercy, or faithfulness carried you through.
• Include one key Scripture that became real to you.
Example:
“I held onto Romans 8:28, reminding myself that all things work together for good. Doors began to open, and I was hired for a job that aligned perfectly with my gifts.”
SECTION 4:
THE CLOSING
Give God the Glory (1 paragraph)
Purpose: End with reflection and encouragement.
Tips:
• Summarize the lesson learned or how your faith has grown.
• End with gratitude or a statement that encourages others facing similar challenges.
Example:
“Now I understand that what felt like delay was divine preparation. My story reminds me that God never wastes our waiting. If He did it for me, He can do it for you!”
