From the Tomb to the Testimony.
Easter Morning Breakfast & Book Release: My Story. His Glory.

April 5, 2026 . 9:00am

“Just as Jesus prepared breakfast after the resurrection, we gather Easter morning to celebrate the stories that rose from life’s darkest hours.” (John 21:12-14 NIV)

12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. 14 This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Stage Set:

  • Mosaic cross center with floral bouqet below

  • Two large panels for the author/readers with director chairs

  • Panels built to be mobile with an extended platform for the director chair. One panel will remain closed while the reader is sharing from the alternate panel. While the reader shares, the next reader is positioned in their chair, panel turned to promotional side. The sign introducing author and their theme is velcrowed on the panel above the reader. When the current reader has shared a portion of their chapter, their companion song is played. At conclusion of song, the current readers panel turns with reader still seated and simultaneously the 2nd panel is turned into position with next reader already seated with their title card above them. Each panel will display the book promotional with QR code.

  • This process continues until all selected author/readers have shared their story and song. Because we have over 40 authors, we will need to select approx 18 for the 2 hour timeframe of the breakfast production. Readers will begin while breakfast is being served to get as many on as possible.

  • We have an mp3 for each of the author’s songs which will be preprogrammed in sync. We will not play the entire song. The song QR codes are included in the book.

  • 25 table rounds of 10. Authors responsible for purchasing tables for their family and friends. Their table will also be the point of book signing at the end of the event. We don’t anticipate all 40 authors being present due to it being Easter Sunday morning (some with prior commitments to their churches), however, I can easily see 25 being available. Should more than 25 participate, we can add 2 authors to a table.

  • My desire is to see the stage set put together fairly quickly to use for promotions. Would like to capture for video promo a couple of authors reading their story and playing their song. How feasible is this?

  • Mosaic cross. Would like to use the cross shell we have and apply colorful plexiglass pieces to form the mosaic as shown in the image above.

  • Two mobile wood backdrop panels with platforms for director chairs. How doable? We can use volunteers in black to perform the movement/turning of the panels.

📊 PRODUCTION FLOW (2-Hour Window)

If each reader:

  • 3 minutes reading

  • 2–3 minute song clip (not full song)

  • 1 minute transition

That’s approx 6–7 minutes per reader.

In 2 hours:
You can feature about 15–18 authors comfortably.

If you overlap serving + reading at beginning:
You could stretch to 20.

Don’t try to do 25 live. It will feel rushed.

Feature the strongest, most diverse testimonies.

Market the rest as:
“Featuring over 40 powerful stories in the book.”

🟣 Movement by Volunteers in Black

Choreograph it.

Make the turning of the panel part of the aesthetic — not hidden chaos.

Lights dim.
Music swell.
Panel rotates.
Spotlight shifts.

It becomes theatrical, not mechanical.

🟣 Mosaic Cross (Plexiglass Overlay)

  • Use thin colored plexiglass sheets

  • Cut into irregular mosaic shapes

  • Mount to lightweight luan panels

  • Attach panels to cross shell with velcro or small screws

  • Backlight with LED strip lighting

🟣 Mobile Wood Backdrop Panels with Platform

Structure:

  • 4’ x 8’ lightweight frame

  • 1x3 or 2x2 framing

  • ¼” plywood or luan face

  • Base platform built like short rolling riser

  • Locking casters

Platform:

  • 6–8” high

  • Just enough to elevate director chair

Casters:

  • MUST be locking

  • Rubber wheels (silent)

🪨 Powerful Easter Tie-In Moment

(something to consider)

Have a large stone placed in front of the cross at beginning of breakfast.

At conclusion:
Roll the stone aside.

Reveal the fully lit mosaic cross.

Then declare:

“This is my story… this is my song…”

Cue final song ensemble.

💡 Table Strategy

25 tables of 10 = 250 seats

Authors buy tables.
Their table becomes:

  • Their celebration point

  • Their signing location

  • Their built-in audience

  • It guarantees attendance.

  • It makes authors ambassadors.

  • It funds the event.
