HOMICIDE VICTIMS
Join the Drive-by Prayer Army!
"There's an army rising up to break every chain!"
The mission of the Drive-by Prayer Ministry is to pray for the peace of Indianapolis and families of homicide victims throughout Marion County, promoting peace in our streets, encouraging hurting hearts, discouraging acts of retaliation, and offering a radical life change through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the late 80's, we were given a prophetic word through Pastor David Kiteley of Oakland, California. The essence of the prophecy states: "you will raise up an army of worshipers and deliverers who will go and minister in the troubled areas of the city". This word was given long before my pastorate and well before the launching of the Drive-by Prayer Ministry in 2006. Several years after the prophecy, our family moved to Nashville Tennessee, with Promise Keepers ministry, but a year later the Lord spoke two words to me that redirected us back to Indy: "unfinished business!"
The headlines of the Indy Star one Sunday morning in August 2006 read: WE ARE AT WAR! The mayor and police chief were overwhelmed with the increasing number of homicides and stated: "we must do something different". It was with that comment that the Holy Spirit prompted us to charge the members of Healing Streams (aka The Streams Church) and launch what is now the Drive-by Prayer Ministry (DBPV). Today we are witnessing the manifestation of the word of the Lord come to pass and we are confident that His Word never fails!
Although the Drive-by Prayer Ministry was birthed through The Streams Church, the army is not exclusive to one church but rather a composite of the Kingdom of God which is made up of many churches. We envision the DBPV ministry is a great evangelistic tool for churches and an awesome opportunity for discipleship as we fulfill the Great Commission one heart at a time.
We open the doors for volunteers from churches across the city to help build an army of believers committed to praying and ministering in the streets of Indianapolis, changing the heart of our city by changing the hearts of its people. It's clear to me that the Lord has already assembled a great army, our job is to call the recruits to arms! Are you the one, or do we look for another?
